Meet Geoff Channon
Senior Consultant Tel: 01782 382250 Email: geoff.channon@mpcg.co.uk After graduating in 1985 with an Honours degree in Computing Science, I joined the large ICT department at Michelin Tyres where I worked for 4 years on an international project to standardise manufacturing quality control across the organisation which involved extensive travel throughout Europe and the USA. The next 13 years were spent working for Michelin ICT and also Michelin's external clients on a variety of IT projects. During this time I covered most roles in the traditional ICT project lifecycle i.e. analyst/programmer, database administrator, systems designer, business analyst, configuration manager and project manager. Following the formation of MPCG as a separate company in 2002, I continued to work as an ICT project manager, managing large technical projects for public sector clients using PRINCE2 as the project management methodology. These included the implementation of business application packages and implementation of telephony technology. As an experienced PRINCE2 practitioner, I have in recent years diversified into more general project management with projects including building refurbishment and office relocations. I also undertake business analysis and business process re-engineering projects. Outside of work I am a very keen outdoor enthusiast and have spent time as a volunteer youth hostel warden and outdoor activity group leader. My favourite place in the world is the English Lake District and some years ago I set myself the task of visiting all 214 of the Wainwright summits which I eventually completed in 2005. |
